Meticulously constructed in 1920 and ceremoniously dedicated the following year, the Historic Seaside Promenade (simply known as “the Prom”) is an absolute must-see for anyone visiting or staying in Seaside! This stretch of 15-foot wide paved walkway spans from Avenue U on its southernmost tip to 12th Avenue up north along the breathtaking Pacific Ocean coast. Come take a leisurely stroll on this iconic seaside pathway that was built over 100 years ago—you won’t regret it!
Throughout the year, you will find many people walking, biking or rollerblading on the Prom as they take in the sights and sounds. On any given day, you might hear a street performer playing live music from one end of the promenade to the other; see folks fishing off of piers; spot surfers paddling out to catch some waves; and take in the beautiful sunsets that stretch across the horizon.
